About Robo Kyle

Free designs for adaptive gear anyone can build. Files, photos and build steps on every work, shared by the people who made them.

The story

Kyle is our friend. After his accident we started looking at adaptive equipment and found out what it costs. Some of us build things, so we started building what he needed instead and putting the files somewhere anyone could get them.

This is not a company, not a shop, not a startup. It is a small site, a few friends, and a pile of files that we would like to see get bigger. If something here looks rough, it is because we would rather publish a working design than polish it forever.

How the site works

The short version. The full rules live in the guide.

Works

One buildable thing per page: files, photos, steps. A step can even be another whole work, so kits link to their parts.

Building on

Every edit is a new version, and "Build on this" gives you your own copy to change. Originals stay untouched, and the family tree stays visible.

Talk

Plans, questions, and posts about a work. Use Talk when you have words, Works when you have files.

Votes

Downvoting requires a reason, and the community judges the reason. Fair criticism earns credit; lazy criticism costs the critic.

Skills

Nine skills that level slowly to 99. Real points come from other people valuing your work, not from posting a lot.

RoboXP

One number for everything you have earned; Creators ranks by it. Innovation only grows when others build on your work.

Why it is free

The hard part was rarely the material or the printing. It was knowing what to make and having a file to start from. Once that exists, copying it costs nobody anything, so charging for it never made sense to us. Nothing on here is for sale, and you do not need an account to look around or download anything.
